Tequesta is a small village at the northern end of Palm Beach County, located just north of Jupiter along the Loxahatchee River and the Intracoastal Waterway. Founded in the 1950s as a planned community centered on the Tequesta Country Club and incorporated in 1957, the village takes its name from the Tequesta people who once lived in the area.
Most of the village sits on the mainland, with small sections on Jupiter Island near Coral Cove Park, which offers beach access, fishing and a kayak launch. Boaters enjoy easy access to the Jupiter Inlet and the Atlantic. Real estate includes riverfront and canal-front single-family homes with docks, homes in the Tequesta Country Club golf community, condominiums and townhomes. Shopping, dining and the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse are just across the river in Jupiter.
