Manalapan is a small, private town on a barrier island in southern Palm Beach County. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the Lake Worth Lagoon to the west, the Lantana beach area to the north and the Boynton Inlet to the south. The town was incorporated in 1931 by Harold Stirling Vanderbilt and named for Manalapan, New Jersey, the hometown of many early settlers.
Manalapan is known for its estate properties, many stretching from the ocean to the Intracoastal with private beach frontage and deep-water docks. The Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa sits on the oceanfront, and Plaza Del Mar, across South Ocean Boulevard, offers everyday shopping and dining. Real estate is centered on oceanfront and Intracoastal estates and single-family homes, and listings are relatively few given the town's size. Palm Beach, Delray Beach and Boca Raton are all within an easy drive.
